Vintage miners lamp with stainless top and brass base. Manufactured by The Protector Lamp and Lighting Company Ltd, Eccles, UK. Height 25cm. These safety lamps were used underground as they would not cause an explosion in the presence of gas. The type 6 was first used in the 1920's.
